Looking the Second Life metaverse through the eyes of reality

Autumn colors

Hell, I forgot I took these pictures last night to do a brief posting before going to bed. But well, better now than never.

This floating mini-island is just a quick scenic set I came up with to take a few pictures of this nice looking trees from Uni Ninetails’ Forest Floor Gardens & Dreamscapes. Though I’m not exactly a fan of her previous tree packs, number 10 and number 11 are freaking good.  These 2-prim trees show well done textures that you can change to extend all year round. You just have to click the trunks to choose from 12 bark options, and the foliage to change among 7  leaf colors, including three for autumn: red, yellow or bare. This feature is standard in all her designs, which allows you buy only one set, plant according to your needs, and violà: you’re done with landscaping for each of the four seasons in one easy step.

Uni doesn’t give the trees any particular names, but pack #11 –the latest– is apparently maple, while #10 can be anything with elliptic-shaped leaves. Both are pretty nice, so I couldn’t help but get the two sets. The fact that they are also copyable is a big plus because, since they are 2-prim objects, you can easily fill a whole sim with them and have thousands of prims available for whatever else you want to build. Nevertheless, be aware that since they use sculpty prims, they may be slow to rezz under certain circumstances.

If you’re one of the folks that love the amazing colors trees in temperate zones get during autumn, you should do a stop in Forest Floor. There’s also a nice discount for residents of Victorian sims Caledon, Winterfell, Steelhead and Zeppelinheim.

On a side note: I also liked the trunks from the trees in pack number 9, but the leaves need some work. On another side note: the two guys in the first pic are me, in white, and Bierno Yoshikawa, from Bierno & Deeta, in shorts. Other elements in the pictures as follow:

Addendum: I forgot to mention that each tree pack comes with their corresponding shadows including scripted textures that you can also change according to the seasons, a copyable ray of sunlight or moonlight (tintable, btw), and a bunch of 1-prim flowers.
