Looking the Second Life metaverse through the eyes of reality

Back on track

Ok, so I got land again. It feels good, actually. After some months of almost total inactivity and loss of inspiration, I accidentally found a random place, while exploring the SL map, with a pretty nice terrain texture I really liked… unlike the old plain poppy-love ground print of my former place. It turned out that the sim belonged to an up-to-then unknown (to me) rental company by the name of Dream Seeker Estates. Immediately I searched their website thoroughly and contacted one of the sales agents online. After a long interrogation and the inspection of a couple of friends (hiya Star and Eleanor!), I decided to give DSE a try. First thing I have to say is their customer’s service is outstanding (so far), and their rental plans are really tempting. Initially, you only pay 1k lindens to acquire the parcel’s rights, and from then on an affordable rent paid monthly or weekly, as it suits you best. So in case you decide to move out (for whatever the reasons), the hole in your pocket won’t be abysmal, since your investment is minimal –again, unlike the previous service I had, that let me lose a property worth 60k (in better times) as a prize for my loyalty of 2 years.

So my general advice to those of you looking for land: first of all, avoid the mainland as much as you can, but also those estates that require you invest a great deal of RL money without giving you any kind of insurance. Maybe give Dream Seeker Estates a try and see if they hold to both your requirements and expectations.

And to finish this post, here are some fashion notes about the look I’m sporting lately:

Hair: Black Maria. All their hair styles are free now, or were so when I headed there to check this Mohawk heaven (and all time favorite of mine), so if you like the punk in your head, tp there asap. They may not be there or free forever, so hurry up.
Skin:
Redgrave. They have two new males skins out, Cruz (the one I’m wearing) and Tyson; both are amazingly good.
Eyes:
Curio, Tragic Eyes series
Tattoo: Aitui, Hope Song

Set:Lapointe & Bastchild – “S’Wear” Edge, new line of more casual-wear, but as damn good as their more formal suits.
Eyewear: Gos
Earrings: Cyanide – Methanol
Other piercings: Black Winter: Legacy of iNFLiCT, Symphony
Bracelet: Rawdolls, Nuttin’ but Trinkets
Shoes: ROT – Test Boots

I hope I haven’t left anything out of the list since I’m “out of practice” in terms of fashion blogging. By the way, the poses in these pics are part of Poser Alert!‘s recent RAD collection. They are pretty nice poses, too bad my amateurish photography doesn’t make them justice. But you can head to their main store and see for yourself. Sets of five have an incredibly low price tag.
