Looking the Second Life metaverse through the eyes of reality

Blue Galaxy

Yesterday I bought a few plants that sparkled the idea of turning part of my land into a cyberpunk spot. With that thought in mind I set myself to explore any sci-fi shop I could come across in-world or in the marketplace. The goal was to find an interesting futuristic building I could turn into a residential structure, that could also blend well with the mentally-sketched environment. I have no idea how many places I visited during the day, but I ended the search empty handed. I did stumble upon an extremely tempting construction by XEN: richly detailed, decent prim count… and with a hefty price tag. I turned it down, not because it was 5000L, but because it was no mod. For such a price I would have expected to be able to modify it since I needed to fit the boxy-looking suite into the “mindset”.

Anyway, I need to keep looking I guess. The good thing is I managed to discover a few  interesting places and visit others I haven’t been into in a long time. Such was the case of Blue Galaxy.

I have no idea how I learned about this magnificent sim (probably a blog post like this one), where giant mushrooms and technology have always dominated the ground level. Up in the clouds there is a gorgeous commercial district where visitors can buy some of Blue Galaxy designer’s creations and help maintain the region. These pictures show parts of the cityscape.

To visit Blue Galaxy Store in Caisteal, follow this [slurl] (access to the ground level in the same landing spot). Once on the ground (or in midair, the actual teleporting route, for some weird reason), head west until you’re in Blue Galaxy proper.
